Ok, I've seen a lot here about how Panda has devalued a lot of the web 2.0 sites (although apparently not social bookmarking sites). So, what sites do people think Panda DOES like at this point?
Panda is the name of the recent Google algorithm update, one of the more major changes in recent history.
Goggle is changing their algorithm with time. Now a days google give more value to quality backlinks.
I'm seeing hubpages making a comeback. I know my hubs were hit hard w/ the Panda rollout. However, I think G might be thinking differently about hubpages being a content farm.
It's interesting, I keep hearing that these sites seem to be "coming back." It's almost like Google devalued them all after the the algorithm change, but the algorithm still sees them as good and thus they are regaining their influence. Thanks everyone!
I think it is depend on what your purpose to use Web 2.0 site is, if you planned to use them to rank in the search engine it is much harder now after Panda but if you planned to use them as a buffer site / Tier 1 backlink to your site I think it is still fine, at least I'm still using them right now and they still give nice boost to my site's rank. Hubpages and Squidoo are two main web 2.0 sites which Google love, you just need to remember to make sure that your pages are quality to get results.
Think of bookmarking like this. It's not how many you have, it's the quality of them. Google may favor you better if someone has more links through a leading brand of jelly products than say... Big Fat Billy Bob's Awesome Jellies company. I think you see what I mean. With a little work and some networking, you will benefit by getting higher quality recognition through your social bookmarking efforts.
