Here's me on my first computer: Na, just kidding, my first computer was the Aplle II I wasted so much time playing Lode Runner.
it seems that there is 2 generations on DP, Old Dp members who survived from the commodore era , and very young Dp members who started with a pentium 3 .
Now I know I am getting old lol. Mine was one of the first home computers IBM created. You know, the ones with the 5.25" floppy and hardly no space and it had a big old monitor. It started out with Dos and ended up with the first version of windows I think. Wow that was a very long time ago. I can't even remember the specs let alone produce a piture. Mary
HA! Thats what I got after my Commodore. For all you "young" folks, I had to go to around 5 different stores over 3 days or so to find a color monitor!
Atari ST 520, was chuffed to bits with it at the time and was great as a midi interface. I've still got it somewhere
That's what I used my 1040 for. Love that unshakeable Atari midi timing Still got mine too. If only I'd have kept my Junos.
Still have boxes of Commodore. 8 or 9 64s and a few vic20s. disc drives, tape drives, expansion drives, about 2000 disks. I hook them up every couple years and relive the "old days" and remember my first online experiences on Qlink. People thought I was weird back then being interested in computers. Those same people today are asking if they can get in on my next project.
commodore vic 20 was my first computer.......still have it somewhere at moms place....I miss that damn thing
My first was a Compaq 286, that is in 93-94. It was a cross between a laptop and a desktop due to its build, although it wasnt portable and had an orange colored monitor. Still have it
Our first computer was an Apple II. I was about 12 or 13 when we got it. This girl I had a crush on made the comment, "Our friends have a computer...they are so rich." I kept it a secret from her that we had one, too (even though we were far from rich.) She was at our house a few weeks later and ended up spotting it, and I was thoroughly embarassed. I think it impressed her, as she gave me my first smooch later that day!
