0 to 4 ... and the funny thing I only didn't promote the site in any way whatsoever, and only submitted to 1 directory... the DMOZ
I just don't get it, how do you guys manage to get high PR's without backlinks? Do you get natural links, like when people link to you, if you have interesting content? I got few of those too, but they don't seem to count for much...
But you said you submitted to only one, besides most of the free directories don't seem to give high PR., OH my God!, I've just received an email from zeal, my site was finally included. LOL I'm happy, after they've rejected my other site I thought they won't include this one.
I did only submit one of my sites to just DMOZ, I submitted 11 actually and that was the only one listed so far. As for my others I got alot of PR2's and 3's submitting to about 150 directories. I'm currently submitting all my sites to 4 or 5 directories per day. It don't sound like much, but takes about 45 minutes a day but in just a few weeks time it really adds up.
Thanks for tips. I got PR3 without submitting to many directories, but I think directories may help you get good SERPs as they are usually hosted on different C-class ip addresses and have similar content on page... I'm still trying to figure out what's better for me: to start submitting my sites to directories now, or to hire someone. So could you tell me how many directories usually list your site from these 150 and after how much time? thanks a lot
I had that too once... I think that kind of a jump would raise a flag these days... For some sectors anyway...
I had a 0 - 8 once but it didnt stay for long e.g. 30 mins while things where still messing around, it actually stopped at 6
WOW that's cool, you could have sold few links then LOL BTW, I thought this thread was in google forum...
Google doesnt deserve its own forum..! Anyway joking aside! PR is relative anyway, in itself it means absolutly nothing as a PR 2 can rank higher than a PR 7 for certain keywords so choose your links wisely, just because a page has high PR you still have to make sure it is totally relevant to your site...
Same happened with one of mine. Shot from 0 to 6 with a total of 6 backlinks and only one of them had PR, but it was nice PR. I've had a couple go from 0 to 5.
