What was your biggest website / business failure? For me it was a unique image hosting site. It was my SEO / marketing project last spring and something I dedicated a long time to. I was hitting 500-1000 uniques per day, had a script custom coded, and was just about to upgrade to a dedicated server when my web hosting company shut me down. Even though my TOS didnt allow it, someone uploaded pornography to the site and the host found it. After I found a new host and the nameservers resolved, traffic was already dieing. Ended up selling the PR 3 / 5 domain here. EDIT: What do you consider a failure? Maybe that should be the question.
So far www.weighins.com is mine Thats just because its so new. About 4k invested and havent made any profit. Hopefully I can turn it around.
No worries. Its becoming increasingly more "popular" to work a little more in the red / on credit for longer periods. Just take a look at satellite radio.
Yup and YouTube was hugely in the red. I haven't had any failures but then again I haven't had any sucesses either (and maybe that's my failure). Skinny
You've got a good site, and definitely should be hitting your best time as of tomorrow, with new year's resolutions, losing holiday weight, and the like. So hang in there.
Mine is a project based on violins.info but I like to see it as a delayed success rather than a failure
It's lots easier to monitize existing traffic than be trying to ramp up both traffic and income. My first site was done years before AdSense was invented. It made nothing for years and I almost closed it down. Then AdSense came along and life changed. You never know when a new income opportunty, perfectly suited to your site, will show up unannounced on the scene. If you already have a well established site with traffic up and running you can quickly take advantage of it.
