What was a supposed to do?

I just received 3 infractions for bumping a thread! My Situation is...Once It was brought to my attention, by another poster in that thread...I checked the rules and released that I was wrong! So not sure what to do because I wanted to close the thread..I tried to PM the mod of that forum, well that Mod isn't accepting PM's or emails (at least when I ltried) As my inrternet time is limited, I decided the best thing for me to do this morning was close that thread. So I decided to close the thread, the only way I could think of..by doing my own posting! I posted and closed the thread!
Well I just recieved 3 infraction from the same thread. I can understand 1 infraction but 3 (at last look). I am pretty sure if I had the abilty to PM the forum mod/admin , we could have figured something out!

Now my point is "so I be punished so severely because I couldn't communicate with the forum mod! The same mod who helped me out previously (when this mod was accepting PM"s)
