Hello, I am running a community which gets ~1000 Unique visitors/day and ~9000 hits/day. I am looking for at least 512MB RAM, 10-20GB HDD. It has to be fully managed. My budget is ~20$/month. Where could i get a good vps server?
What control panel are you planing to use? you might not find prices lower than www.flamehosting.com because their cPanel is only $7.50/month
I can find hundreds hosting websites , the question is if they are any good or not. That`s why i`m asking here, from your experience which one would be the best vps hosting provider?
If you can increase your budget a little bit then you can get very stable and fast VPS from knownhost.com, They are truly professional in VPS hosting.
Do you really think that you need a VPS? I am using a simple reseller account for a community that gets much more traffic than yours. If you want a quality VPS, try wiredtree.com.
If you need root access but not much resources, you can consider the basic VPS packages offered by Hostgator: http://www.hostgator.com/vps-hosting/ Note: You won't get cpanel with the first two packages (Level 1 and Level 2).
In that case, wiredtree is the one that I would suggest. Other options that you can consider are liquidweb and micfo. I have got a lot of positive feedback about wiredtree and liquidweb from other webmasters. Micfo is my current host.
I recommend you Hostome.com services. They are providing high performance and featured VPS solutions, you wont regret of using them,.
I can understand why Google isn't the best option to do an open search for a good VPS host. It is better to get advice from a community that is hosting centric. You can find VPS starting at a buck under your price. Stay away from lists of providers and perform a search for reviews. Look for providers that have been around for over ten years or so and check into their customer service as well. These two factors will overall and overtime be more important than the difference of a buck or so in your price range.
Using a shared hosting with 1000 unique visitors/day for my vbulletin, my host is down for multiple times a day
I recommend you to get VPS from 4goodhosting plans. From the personal experience I can say they are stable and inexpensive.
All depends your budget and you need. Regularly something descent you pay little more and if you want a managed VPS.
I went with wiredtree.com , it`s more than i expected to pay but i hope it`s worth it, from the reviews i`ve read it`s one of the best vps hosting companies out there.
