Does the new owner usually keep the existing already-paid-for listings? Or do they usually get deleted? Does anyone know? Thank you
a lot will keep them as per an agreement with the previous owner but there are a holes who don't keep them and remove everything.
respective owners will keep the old listings. Alot will do it because it keeps the content because if you remove all ... your indexed pages will be gone ..
Well you have 3 options - Keep the links - Refund the links - Remove the links and get listed at the QBC site
So what and where does that exactly put www.redpines.org YOUR OWN website, that dumped my paid featured listings when you bought it? Be careful your own project does not come back to bite you in the ass.
negatory. otherwise i would have not posted about it. But obviously as stated, the featured listings SHOULD HAVE remained intact and to be carried out for the entire YEAR for which they were subscribed for.
No problem PM me your paypal recipe i will talk with the previous owner. I think the featured links are all permanent so this option was not available
Actually, have a talk with the original owner and have him pull up receipts. Money is not my concern here. it's principle and for what an owner and buyer should obviously take into account; something for which you just stated is QBC, and you yourself have been involved in. Like i mentioned, be careful you do not fall victim to your own website.
I have no problems because I was assured by the previous owner all refunds where made. And you are the first one to bring this subject, strangely 9 months after the sale.
Remember, the both of you hated on me and directorydump for ages. hahaha Lest we not forget our past :evil grin: But do contact him, and check the receipts and you will see they were never refunded.
The ethical thing to do is keep everything intact when you get it and find out the status on the listings. Let each listing run it's course and discuss future arrangements when the time comes with the respective parties. Listings that have become inactive or abandoned should be made inactive with notification going to the link owners. You're not buying a new website like many people seem to think for some strange reason. You're buying an active business with active accounts and relationships with real people. You have to build with what you bought. The funny thing is alot of these people also open bidding directories. Why would anyone trust you not to manipulate the rankings when you remove links for whatever reason be it to resell or to hurt someone in the rankings. Too many people are short sighted by a quick buck and neglect basic principles.
Hello... Agreed leaving them is the right thing to do. Myself i ran into the same problem that someone sold thier directory and somewhere in the middle someone yanked my paid listings. ( funny only mine were gone though ) I did contact the new owner and asked why it was deleted when i paid and showed him the cached page and he rightfully replaced it as im sure Nobody wants friction around this place ... lol thx malcolm
