What use is it to post in forums with a link in the signature?

There could be many different benefits:
1) You get a backlink for each post... with the anchor text of your choice.
2) If you have something someone would find interesting, you will get traffic. (I have a webmaster blog, so posting here on a webmasters forum has been beneficial)
3) The search engines will crawl your website more often.

 

IMO, there is very low amount of PR passed by links from thousands of forum links, still good traffic is the main thing, and forum signature always sending the same.

 

Your signature helps to improve your SERP ranking.

Let's look at it the other way....doesn't DP loose lots of PR by allowing its users to have 4 links in their signatures?

 

You will get traffic alot of its if its huge forum

 

you will get decent traffic,quick google crawl,backlinks
