With this economic downturn/ meltdown, what types of sites (selling price: less than $100) do buyers prefer? -Blogs/ content sites? -Game sites? -Proxies? -Others?
How about finding something a tad more original. Proxies can still make money if you market them well, game sites are very difficult; saturated and crappy. Content sites work ofcourse, but a looooot of work. I would try to find something solid and original which would do bad in economic downturn; if you can make it into a profit in that downturn, imagine what happens when the economy goes back up; you'll laughing all the way to the bank. Also you can permit yourself more investment now as programmers/designers/admins are a lot cheaper than 2 years ago and will get cheaper still because there are less and less clients.
All the sites are in demand! But people are asking for some traffic or a small revenue atleast! Its hard to sell a brand new site these days!
Any site with content takes time. I agree that the gaming niche is oversatured both from a gaming as in casino standpoint and gaming as in PS3. When people look for ps3 and other things they will go to the authority source 75 percent of the time and you will pick up the dribbles of traffic from search engine clicks for long tail keywords. The best way to make a large amount of money is to create a free product on a website so people have to keep coming back over and over again. The content sites will still work it will just take 6 months to a year to really see anything coming in significant.
IMO,premium link generator is the highest demand coz during recession many people don't wanna spend for premium account, then you can take this opportunity to make a premium link generator and earn from it.
Less Competition based Niche Content websites are always in demand, but the thing is its pretty tough these days to sell new websites, And if you manage to wait and get some PR then they get sold like Hot Cakes.
Gaming sites I would say is no longer a niche, therefore sales have dropped, hence why I dont sell gaming sites anymore.
