I want to make my first website soon - just im not sure what type to make.

I have a vb forum licence so i suppose that could have an influence in the type of site i make?

Done a teens message board in past but got bored with it. What could i make?

Well, do you have any hobbies or passion for something? My first site was for video game maps and walkthroughs, as that was a topic that I enjoy and am knowledgeable about. It doesn't sound like you are trying to sell a product, so provide information to others about something you enjoy. With a forum license, you have the ability to make an interactive information exchange.

It depends what you are interested in really.

I mean i'm interested in movies, so I made a movie review blog.
I'm also interested in myspace customization (and have had a group on there about it for 2-3 years now) and my first site was about that.

Definitely make it on something you're really interested in (And likely to be interested in for a good long while! ;) )

    Fansite for a series perhaps?

Yes Michael is right, I would start a blog using the wordpress engine on a topic of interest to start. Blogs are easy to run, easy to set up and can make good money fast.

How to not sound too blunt... your first 5+ websites will be rubbish, everyones are :) and so you need to have a passion to be able to stick it out for the love of it rather than the money.

As time goes on and you get better at design, programming, understanding user behavior then you can get your motivation to continue from less ethical areas ;)
