What type of PayPal account to get?

If you're a freelance writer getting paid over the Internet via PayPal (like with AC and eHow), what type of PayPal account do you use? Is it acceptable to use a Personal Account? The TOS says "If you are selling goods or services, you may not ask the buyer to send you a Personal Payment for the purchase. If you do so, PayPal may remove your ability to accept Personal Payments."

Well, I'm not going to sell goods or services. But when my payout quota is reached, of course these companies will issue my payments automatically.

If this is not allowed under the Personal Account, can I at least test it for a month or so and then get a Business or Premier Account if the thing pays off? I'm not going to get flagged for getting paid $25 once or twice by eHow, am I?

Thanks. There doesn't seem to be an added cost for upgrading to Premium; just fees for each payment received.

But I read the info and it seems the fees are higher (percentage terms) the smaller the payment transferred. Would it be possible to set my eHow to transfer larger amounts at time, instead of $10 each time?

i suggest to get a premier account in paypal because if you will be sending and receiving money on your PP, then you should get premier but if you only send money to your PP acc. you can choose personal.

    Premier account.

Unless you're operating a business, there is no need for a business account.

You don't need a business account when you use paypal only to send and receive money.
Premier account is the only choice.

I used to have just a personal account, but when i investigated fees in detail I found that a Micro account was more suitable for me.

If you are selling low priced items < £9 (on eBay for example) then the fees are less with a micro account compared to a standard account. Conversely if most of your sales are > £9 then you are better of with a personal account.

    Hope this helps.

Please check the fine details on paypal website for exact fees

Personal Accounts are of No USE - For ur case premier is the only option as u r receiving a payment from a company. so on a safer side use premier a/c only.
Business a/c is not applicable for u.

Thanks everyone. I asked PayPal about it. A rep said it's fine to start with a personal account and receive money, then upgrade later to premium or business. I'm keeping their email just to be safe! And yes, I'll upgrade to premium.
