hey guys what do you think is the best economic system and type of government? discuss, and give reasons to support your answer plz.
best economic system would be a mixture of capitalism and socialist mixed together. And the best government would be the one that can offer a good economic to its people.
There is no best economic or government, it depends on the population and the economy of the country you are governing. Each country is unique and each country's economy is unique. Economic and government should cater to the country in question.
the "system" is as good as the people who are running it. all systems will do well if the people at the top are honest and responsible.
The system that was around before government existed... the one where people were actually FREE to live off the land and do as they pleased... now that was a sweet system. Sadly I don't think we will be seeing it again for quite some time.
The best economic system is probably capitalism with a little bit of regulation to keep things fair. The best political system (in my opinion) is a direct democracy. That's the only system whre the people actually have power of influencing what happens with their country. @drmike I think you have a over-romanticised view of what the pased used to be like. First of all people were never completely free to live off the land. There were always a bunch of people willing to kill you for whatever stuff you had. Secondly, there has always been a government. And by government I mean somebody who's in charge and takes decisions. Today they're dressed in suits and vote in a big room, in the past they might have been the village elders, or some war chieftain etc. etc.
A direct democracy shits all over the minority. So it's great as long as you are in the majority. Representative Republic is a good idea if it is carried out correctly. Like others said, it's about who is behind the wheel that matters. Capitalism has a similar tendency to leave many used and abused and a few smelling like roses. But... I don't have a better solution. As far as living in the past, there are places you can still do that. The Amish comes to mind.
Depends on the nation, population and many other factors..... Its not a monosyllabic answer you see...
The best form of government would be a world-wide dictatorship under my rule. I would eliminate all forms of political freedom, and additionally all needless red tape. It would be streamlined, fast to respond, and able. The economic system under this model, however, would also be a free market in the truest of sense. The only regulations will be sensible ones that insure fairness (insider trading, criminal activities, and otherwise would be prosecuted to the fullest extent). Efficiency would be the goal, and while you might not have the Political freedom to choose your Dictator, Administrator, or Governor on a large scale, anything below that would actually be up to free elections. Under my dictatorship every human will have the right to live, and live in any way they wish as long as it harms no one else. I could care less if you're white, black, yellow, orange, purple (well, that might be a medical condition caused by plague so I would be concerned actually) gay, straight, or anything else - everyone has the same rights across the board. Economic, Social, and very very limited political freedom, an efficient government, and finally there would also be World Beer Week, which corresponds with Oktoberfest. Albeit the International scale dictatorship will be in charge of maintaining order, a strong military backbone and infrastructure, other concerns like Social Security and all of these other little programs would be the responsibilities of localities. It's not the job of the International Government to collect personal income taxes and redistribute wealth - as there will be a law against such taxation at all levels of the government. There will, of course, be a consumption tax, a standardized currency backed by Gold and other precious commodities, and an insurance that no one will starve to death. Did I mention Beer Week?
Switzerland seems to be doing just fine, and it has many minorities. Non-direc democracy means that the leaders get to shit on everyone
Monarchy. Under a strong, wise and just king would have been best. But it's not gonna happen, so regulated capitalism mixed with some green economy.
The best economic system will always be democratic capitalism where the rights of the capitalists/investors are guaranteed and protected, while at the same time consumers' protection and fair labor practices are also enshrined in the constitution. In fact, some socialistic and other diverse economies are now adopting fundamentals of the capitalist economy while some have completely shifted to capitalism. All types of government are products of brilliant minds evolved into different variations. The United Kingdom and Japan are ideal models of long-surviving monarchies, with distinct modifications from the original "God-inspired" kingship/empire. The US and France are very effective models of representative democracies which are being made as patterns of a number of newborn states. Regardless of the type and form of government that any group of people adopts, the determining factor of its evil or goodness is the people themselves who have initially agreed to promulgate and ratify the fundamental law of its creation. How the officials run the government and perform their duties, and how and who the people decide to install as government leaders will eventually determine the kind of government they deserve.
Hello, I think the best system is the scandinavian model: beside having a very good welfare, these countries are among the wealthiest and most well-functioning capitalist states in the world. Most of them, except Finland, belong to the top10 of the world's richest countries. Regarding USA, I don't have the feeling the US welfare could be considered as an example for other countries And finally as a french citizen, I find out our administration is too much involved in your business, always trying to protect you from earning too much money, making hard for entrepeneurs to succeed. Just my little cent. Regards Thibaut
