I've been thinking about getting a new computer, and was wondering what brand or model is the best. Any ideas?

If you are well aware of technology, then you should assemble one for yourself. That way you can save some bucks..

I own an LG laptop, 2 years old but still works fine.

You need to add more info if you want proper recommendations; a gaming computer has different specifications than that of a

    work computer.

Well.. my personal suggestion is, If you choose a desktop go for assembled ones. It can reduce your cost and you can get a good hardware.:)
