Im currently building up some new sites, and I was wondering what would be the best concept, traffic wise? 10 articles a day that looks like this: http://games-it.com/2006/06/25/opera-for-the-nintendo-ds-console/ or 3 articles a day that looks like this: http://games-it.com/2006/06/23/cars-in-gameboy-advance-2/ I want to expand my amount of sites, but I want to know which kind of articles would give me more traffic, from google, in your opinion, before creating my expansion....?
Users will likely want the more details - since they are searching for info on a given topic anyway. ...and, we all know that what users would like, google would like. i've said it many times, you can NEVER go wrong with good, quality, original content. The first example you have, "10 articles like..." are basically just snippets that will cause your user to go back to google and search again for more details.
Well, in term of quality, I also have this type of articles: http://mydvdreviews.com/2006/06/23/underclassman/ Do you think that 1 article per day of this size is even better then the other examples?
well, again - If I can find complete info in one spot, all the better. Many webmasters, however, would divide that article into 3 pages (which I HATE) You have to look at your site(s) as a wh9ole. for example - a hokey site mighty have an article on "penalties". to be compeltely comprehensive, you could have a one MASSIVE article on penalties in general. BUT - in this case, it is logical to break it up, perhaps into smaller, yet complete, articles on each type of penalty. in your case for dvd reviews - you could even break that down. HAve a "splash page" for the intro, with links to sub-pages for your review on different aspects. that way, you haVe the complete set of info in one place still, but its not daunting for readers. personally, I think the more complete and comprehensive, the better. hoping someone else will weigh in on this too...
OH - by the way, in that last article, you have all those pictures.... what is the legal in-and-outs of that?? im looking to use images in a similar way....and was wondering how many sites get away with this sort of thing.
