I am looking to greatly expand my link building capabilities and I'm wondering, what software and tools do the pros use?

    All help will be appreciated!

Its all manual for me except for an auto fill plugin for FireFox that just makes it easier than a copy & paste.

Everything from the directory url, submission date, site title, accepted or rejected is all recorded onto a spreadsheet.

    No magic for me :(

i use arelis/ibp/ webceo and webpositions gold to build links. I have also scoured teh internet to find directory lists.

Aaron walls has a pretty good one or you can check out strongest links .com

if you do this on your own I would suggest using some usefull SEO tools like the ones found here

My own custom automation scripts.

And Roboform for everything I haven't automated. I store all my passwords and site profiles in it - that's one program I really couldn't live without anymore.

I used Arelis/IBP, Link Survey and don't know what other softwares I tried, but results are 100% better if done manually.

I dont mind using money, if it is going to save a lot of time which can be utilized for other work. But, I am worried of the genuiness of some of the sites offering these services.
Can you mention a few good links, if it is not too much of a trouble.

I find link partners through link exchange web sites, placing the links by hand and enter the URL where my partners link to me in my Surfwebtips link exchange account.

Surfwebtips automatically check my partners linking to me once a week. If I also know my partners email addresses I enter those as well and Surfwebtips automatically send them warning emails and a 'broken link exchange' repairing instruction when my partners no more link to me. If they stop linking to me I'm notified. It's a pretty cool service! Link building takes time and I don't want to worry about my partners really are linking to me or not.

I use a very good piece of software called LinkExplore. It has a huge database of potential link partners. Very useful are the email templates that you can customize accordingly (to avoid being accused of spamming). The template includes the HTML code of the site you want to link to and your own site... so it saves lot of typing, copying and pasting...

It was designed by Sumantra Roy, the guy who came up with KEI (Keyword Effectivness Index).

    :)

Same here Maldives I do it manually and I have good records and link buddies now with different themes. Now it helps me to get links for my new websites easily. :)
