What tools are people using for longtail keywords?

Hi guys I have manually put together a list of keywords that get around 100 exact match searches per month that relate to my site. My method is to get a writer write a short 'page' for my site and load it up and then without doing much often the page will rank and bring in small amounts of traffic. Overtime lots of small amounts of traffic will be a lot of traffic (hopefully).

However it's very hit and miss. Sometimes I don't rank at all for them, it's hard to monitor where they are all ranking, sometimes they need a bit of a 'push' to get to the front page.

Does anyone have any suggestions for tools to help with this sort of thing? Does such a tool exist?

    Thanks

Well, I think in your situaation semrush will be the nice choice, because it can show you many quality long-tails, and you also can see how your site is ranking for each keyword.

yeah but what about suggesting new keywords and tracking those keywords? From what I can see from SEM rush it just gives you data on what is currently happening, it wouldn't help in trying to build more traffic over time with new keywords.

You might want to give Traffic Travis a try. Traffic Travis is an SEO application that not only helps you with keyword research but on-page SEO as well. This application can show you what you need to do to improve your on-page SEO as well give you your site's current ranking for the keywords you're targeting. There's a free version you can download from the website.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

I think you could use Google Suggestion to feature out long tail keywords from seed keywords, then research on it to find low competition keywords.
