Hi all, I have a quick question. I just made a few landing pages for a few different products and what I want to know is: When I go to put my affiliate link within my landing pages should I use my full affiliate link or should I be putting a link to the buying page of the product? It seems unnecessary to send prospects to the product sales page directly after my pre-sell landing page. It sounds like I should direct them straight to the buy page, but I am uncertain. Could someone clarify which is better please? Thanks, Brad
Both are possible, and with some programs it's easier than others because they setup their programs to allow this (my sig for an example). However, it depends on your lander. Though your thoughts are right partially, you just got them to YOUR landing page, which might be a quick review, or a long copy of the sales page, or a mini-site, or just a simple graphic and an arrow/button, or an optin... There is confusion here because most don't realize the difference between a pre-sell vs. a simple intermediary page that acts as NOTHING MORE than a quick cookie fire and clickthrough vs YOU acting as the sales page... You shouldn't bypass the vendor and go directly to the buy page unless a) you have their permission b) you have the same contact info, guarantee, legal disclaimers, etc. that CB requires vendors to have before they buy so nobody is liable on your behalf c) you REALLY think you have done a good enough job preselling them and can confidently say they will in fact buy from your page. You might hurt your own conversions trying to bypass a good vendor as they have probably invested into human senses/instinct pulling sales copy vs. your home made mockup (no offense). If you think about it from the big picture - TRAFFIC > YOUR LANDER > SALES PAGE > BUY. TRAFFIC > YOUR LANDER > BUY. TRAFFIC > YOUR LANDER > OPTIN > SALES PAGE + EMAIL> BUY/EMAIL REMINDER OR BONUS... Your lander is looked at as nothing more than literally a presell page. You should use it as such - tell the customer some key benefits why THE FOLLOWING PAGE IS ABOUT TO REALLLY HELP THEM!>> and get them the hell OFF your lander asap! OR make them optin so you can build your list AND email them plus send them to the money page. The lander (for the affiliate) was designed originally to simply allow you to track/serve a cookie, it is now the home to many meanings and functions however it still serves that main purpose.
Thank you for clarifying that. You just summed up exactly what needs to be on my landing page and where I need to lead prospects as well. Immensely helpful.
