    Hi there,

I am working on a small video demonstration and need to place some audio onto the video...does anybody know a good audio software I can use to do this? Are there any free ones out there?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if Audacity can merge audio and video? If it can, then I need to give it another go.

To keep it 'free'... assuming you're on Windows > Edit your audio in Audacity, save it as a wav (or mp3, or whatever)... and then import your video, and your audio track into Windows Movie Maker. It's free, it kinda sucks. But it's free.

I have tried Audacity too and it seems that this software is also like with Adobe Audition. Its features and tools are easy to use. I love this software because it is free yet it can do a good edit on sounds :)

For something like this -- adding audio to video -- you really need a non-linear editor (NLE), not an "audio editor". Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas Video are common suggestions. Stuff like this is commonly discussed in detail at sites like digitalFAQ.com and Videohelp.com, in their forums.

As somebody else above mentioned, free software on this sort of task most definitely "kinda sucks".

like said here before, you don't need an audio-software, just a decent video-edit-software, like adobe premiere or sony vegas. inside you can add video and audio tracks on the timeline, when you finished working, you render/save you work to a moviefile.
