    thank you google?

you can buy a sponsored link if you want to get a good ranking, otherwise start to improve your site. Remember that some queries drop over 24kk results, so there is more people who feels the same as you than "happy people recieving tons of traffic".
At least they indexed your sites....

    That's a great one :)

You do not have to say anything just focus on what is working for you (on where most of your targeted traffic is coming from), seo is overpraised in my opinion.

Errr you make no mention of how long your sites and blogs are online which type server enviroment what type of links you built whether or not you have original content on your properties.

Lastly you are targetting mesothelomia in one of your sig links...thats a long way off from ever seeing any referals from Google since this is/was a huge black hat seo keywords term..

Google wants to see you build trust...and that wont happen for many months with the term you are targetting...

    Nice try though

did you know that the ratio of people with mesothelioma to people with mesothelioma websites is 1:1000000

is there something about your mesothelioma site that makes it worthy of a top 20 position in google? Maybe email and tell them?

    :p

Now now, it depends upon what kind of marketing you do as well. When you start out, you naturally think that traffic mainly comes from search engines. Having other people link to you and bring in traffic just isn't a natural idea. (Or at least, when I started in the late 90s, this is how I thought as a true newbie).

If you're dependent upon the SEs for traffic, then you're at their whim. Go out and get some links from sites in your area. Either way you'll need great/good content ...

What Google giveth...Google taketh away :D

    Couldnt help it .......

and you are right in the early 90s search engines were the only way to get decent traffic...that and figuring out how to get people from adult sites to visit regular sites...

However today the larger websites receive less than 10% of their traffic from the search engines and 90% via links and bookmarked traffic.

    Peace

    Define 'larger websites'? :D

Based upon the number of people looking for SEO tips, I'm assuming that your definition would include something to the effect of 'these sites are the minority'.

While I certainly trust a site more that gets a recommendation from someone else, most of the sites I do visit are due to a quick search on one engine or another. And most of those that are referred were found by searches by the original poster.

Of course, I work in the more technical field for my day-job, and I don't care too much about spending time on digg - time goes too fast, and I've nothing to show for it but meaningless information ;)
