What to look out with PLR campaigns

I have been an avid lover of sharing styled licenses in the last few years from both angles (content creation and borrowing). I have used creative commons and public domain works for some time, and the policies are pretty straight forward and clearly standardized. I have been checking out Private Label Rights content lately, especially for use in email campaigns, but the legal usage requirements in PLR packages are often vague or just tell you you can "use it in any way, even throw it up against the wall". Are there any kind of clear copyright and usage policies that can be attributed to all PLR content, or is it a legal minefield of ambiguities?

The products of private label resell rights is particularly pleasant because not only they come with resell and master resell rights, but they are also normally come with the source code of the product such as the word file with the purpose that you are able to make amendment to the product, enhance it, attach your name on it, and sell it as your own products.

Private label rights products gives you the right to change anything of the product and sell them at any price you like keeping all the profits for yourself.

The most popular form of private label rights product is e-book. However there are many other forms of private label right products such as articles, software, templates, and websites etc. Many internet marketers use Private Label Rights (PLR) products to create contents, sell, or give away to collect leads. PLR is widely used to save time on creating original contents.

Most of the PLR products gives you all rights to do whatever you want to it, include claiming the authorship to it. It usually comes with a licence telling what you can do with it, so read it careful and re-read it again before taking your next step.

    Hi Timothy,

I run a PLR service and i can say that any reputable PLR provider should provide you with a copy of the license BEFORE you purchase the content. As Shintocool says, there are many different caveats that go with PLR content, but a good license should give you a very clear idea of what is and is not included.

As far as ambiguity is concerned, for legal purposes you should ALWAYS assume that any use not SPECIFICALLY granted in the license is excluded. It's just the "better safe than sorry" mentality. Another option is to ask the provider to clarify any ambiguity specifically in writing. Email your question, and any provider worth his salt will answer. If he doesn't have time to address your questions, you don't have time to buy his products!

    Hope this helps!
