What to look for in a AdWords marketer?

I've been considering hiring someone to help with my adwords fro awhile. I've seen some really good companies but they are very expensive.

If I where to hire a individual to do the work what should I look for from them. Or better yet, what should I look out for?

    Thanks in advance

If it was me i would ask them if they have worked with the niche/sector/area that i may be involved in.

i would ask what pipes said plus:

-how many years of experience do you have
-what search engines and networks ave you ran on
-what specific goals have you been required to meet by past clients or jobs (sales, leads, pageviews etc.) and how you've met those goals (provide at least 3)
-provide 3 real life cases of a campaign and how they optimized it to reach campaign goals (to get an idea if they know what they are talking about)

There are plenty of questions to ask!

I'd be more than happy to consult for you for free! I have 6+ years of search marketing experience and am in the beginning stages of setting up my search marketing company. It would be valuable to me!
