what to do with undevelopped domains

I have several domains with no content.

I will build content for these eventually, but we all know how long it takes...

anyway, seeing as google likes old sites better than new ones, i'm wondering what to do with them. I want to get these sites a high a pr as quicky as possible when I eventually do develop them. Will any of the following help/hinder me?

here are some possibilities - what should I do and why

    1. leave the domains empty
    2. put a simple non descript page holder saying coming soon or something, plus a few keywords
    3. redirect elsewhere
    4. Get some paid writers to write a few words of content just so something is on the sites
    5. other

i have 10-15 domains like this - any advice welcomed

    thanks!

Get Freebie from owlcroft and place it in behind a home page of relevance [read good content] with adsense and coop - use the coop for weight and links with ads pointing elsewhere

You should pay attention to the 2sd and 4th. Moreover, put your links into some websites which have the high pr. Google will update PR in June or July, so do it soon.

Add subject related directories with a view of exchanging links once you have some good content.

I presume you have some idea of what the subject of the eventual website will be whien you buy the domain. I usually install wordpress and make a couple of posts. Then, if there is time, I revisit the sites and post something else every 3-4 weeks. That way the site gets indexed and a potential buyer can look at archive.org and see how long there has been on-topic content online.

You didn't mention if there were any links pointing to the domains. If there are, then at the very least I would put up a one-pager that had some content related to whatever you are going to put there in the future. If there are no links, then I would get one or two links to them to get them indexed at some point. If you have some linkage already and/or you can expect type-in traffic, I would do as Foxy said...or something along those lines.

Get some sort of content up on them and get them indexed as soon as possible.
