At this company we have like 30 different sites.

many of them on same IP

some of the lesser sites have a PR of 2

i was going to create micro sites and market the main products but since these content sites have pr of 2, what if i switch them onto its own IP?

by switching it will this help or will Google see this and still lump it together as the IP of the main site

what is a good suggestion i do with these content sites

From my limited seo experience, I think it will help, if the mircosite is on a different IP and it links to the main company site which is on a different IP then It could pass some pr and get the product site up in rankings for your product keywords.

It would be great to know what the veterans think.

    in theory know it works

but my concern is all of the sudden we move it to a new IP, will Google think we are doing something shady?

also i want to make the content sites different IP's so i can use this for a 3 way link trade with out main sites

and build out the micro content sites to be an affiliate for the main sites.

by switching IP's will this work
