Just got http://definethis.org . I was thinking about a site that, when a word is searched on it, would search on Google for definitions and Wikipedia for content and caching the results, therefore expanding automatically. Does anyone have a better ideea for it ? Also, I guess it's not worth much but I'd like to hear some appraisals from you.. P.S. I got it without a clear development plan from Netfirms, because the 10$/year promotion was too tempting and this word combination was the first thing that came to mind and was not used, that's why I'm asking for your advice.
Domain Value: Low to mid $xx Why: Because this domain sounds promising, although it is a .org. Your Development Idea: If you make it such a rough search engine type of website, it wont be visited by a lot of people, wouldn't visiting wikipedia be a better idea? Plus you would have no real original content. New Development Idea: Develop this website into a portal where real experts define things, or maybe a dictionary website? Also, seeing it is a .org, you can very well use it for a user driven community based site, through which you can make something like Wikipedia or Urbandictionary, something like Urbandictionary would be a very good idea for this domain. Have people define words their own way, plus they can supply their own pictures etc. as well, make an excellent definition of the month award which gives out real money to the best definitions. This will work good. Selling advice: Make a functional website and try selling on webmaster forums if you want to go for that, Sedo is a good choice as well, although I recommend you dont sell this domain, but rather develop it.
