What to do with dead sites?

What do you do when your sites no longer produce? I have a couple that have stopped producing and wondering what to do, should I remove them from my servers or try to sell them for a few bucks?

I place links to my newer sites (for SEO value) on and leave them live.

Yeah, always good to leave them live. I've got one of my sites which I've just put a few links and adsense on until I decide what to do with it.

You can do any of the following:

    1) Sell them
    2) Plaster them with ads & affiliate URL
    3) Plaster them with links to your other sites for SEO benefit
    4) If it has a decent PR then you can try selling links

be honest and ask yourself is it worth keeping.

can the site be turned around?
    is time the only issue?

always better to keep them live to either sell or use as links as previously stated.

i got lucky as a site i was going to dump has gone on to do really well.

good luck in what you choose

    regards

I am thinking about getting rid of some inactive sites myself. I haven't had the time to develop them properly. I am thinking of picking just one to keep and putting all of my time and effort into building and marketing that one site.

If your done with them , run some kind of contest here in DP contest section and give it away..

Will earn you some green and you could promote your other sites at the same time via Sig etc.?

    Just an idea :)

Either sell them, use them for links, or try and revive them.

reinvent the site or if you looking for a quick buck than turn it MFA and sell it with the domain.

Though personally I will keep it for SEO and moved it to a cheaper host :)

    - park 'em, and get some bucks
    - sell 'em on SEDO

I have a site my second one I ever made. I'm a packrat I just havent gotten rid of it its a pr1 and I love the domain name just cant fiqure out a way to use it. When I origanly got the domain and idea for the site it was a great idea but a few months into it I relised the idea and name was great but required at least a team of 4 to properly maintain and thats just not my style right now.

If yr PR is good and if your domain recd good visitors then selling them thru parking site where u can make money for those who click on yr website and u make money or u can selling thru SEDO / Godaddy or Parked.com.

U should read ebooks - lazydomainer / expired domain / Domain Profit these will help u how to make money for yr website.

I hv the ebooks, if interest. then pm. Thanks

Turn them into proxies with your adsense on homepages, use the embedproxy.com service to actually power it.
