Okay. Well I have a very old PC lying around. Here are the specs: I know some people have used their older machines as email servers or small home server etc.. etc... Just looking for some advice on what I can possible use it for... well besides chucking it out safely. I initially kept it as a backup PC, because it saved me at least 3 times, where my primary PC died and I needed to use the net for some help.
I think you must leave it for back up. Old is gold. As u said it helped you 3 times. Might be helpful a 4th time. You never know. So keep it safe. Kind regards, Yogesh
I'd install Ubuntu Linux on it and outsource some of the automated tasks like website backups and whatnot from my regular desktop, over to it.
If it saved you three times, then I recommend keeping it, just in case. If you don't want to, you could donate it to charity, but I still recommend keeping it, you lucky bunny.
Give it to someone who doesn't knows how to use PC. May be your friend or relative. So, that they will learn on how to use a PC. - Mr.President -
If this old PC is the only other PC you have, it is worthwhile to keep it as a back up. You never know when the main system begins to throw tantrums! Regards, RightMan
Well it's all depend on your requirements,,,old is not the main point..so first of all find out your requirments then throw it. If you are using just for surfing web then i would suggest to kept it and if you using for server, database ...etc then buy a newone but don't sell it. BTW : Why you are still using W 98 ?
Give it to someone who's needy, so it might help them. Or upgrade the ram capacity and you just use it
As a computer engineer I am maaking some changes.like change a motherboard change a RAM(Random access Memory),Change a Processor.
