I have a forum with about 300 posts and 100 threads... which is pretty much dead (Niche too small). I am going to uninstall vbulletin and wanted to know if there is anything I can do with the database? Can I use the database to create a mini site or does someone have any other suggstions?
You Could try selling it! There maybe buyers depending on the niche of the site. The new owner can simply mass-mail the new link to all the existing users, since there are emails stored. When users signup, they agree to certain terms and at the same time you are supposed to provide the service that they signed up for. Divulging the arena to something else, for something, which was to be a forum originally doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Abhishek
You could try selling it. What I do is just convert the database to a free forum software, register a domain, and slap the database onto that domain. Sometimes I sell it as a site, or try to get the members back and develop it.
No, actually you just said ..... "It is used for restaurant reviews" I was just wanting to know who's question you were answering, and what did you mean by IT ?
make a new site similar to forum, email members abt it. If d forum doesnt work.. go for blog articles or static html from posts on forum
Thanks for advice...I'm going to keep the VB license. Maybe try to sell it or see how much I can get http://www.capecodforums.com
