I'm pretty sure you can submit a sitemap to yahoo and live search too.

Apart from that there's not much else to do other than update the sitemap when new pages are added to your website.

A sitemap will only go as far to let search engines find all your pages, it will not directly impact your rankings.

    Hi,

place it on your home page. Update it whenever you add pages to your site and let the search engines do the rest. As sitemap helps the search engines see what is on your site so just keep it updated,

Have you registered your site with google and checked that they can read the sitemap?

In my opinion, a sitemap is best used to check whether search engine spiders can successfully crawl and index your entire website. Google webmaster tools will tell you if there are any roadblocks on your site that cause indexing problems.

sitemaps simply help google organize your site, not really rank it. Just update it (resubmit) every once and a while and your doing all you really can regarding sitemaps.

Sitemap is only for fast indexing of your pages (informing about our site pages to the bots), and you can submit your map to all the search engines. If you update the sitemap with new pages, you can again submit the sitemap. No problem in resubmitting the submit the sitemap.
    All the best.

You don't just update the sitemap when you add new pages, you must update the sitemap every time you update each page and change the last change date. There is no need to resubmit the sitemap each time you make a change because Google reads it each time it visits. You can resubmit if it makes you feel better
