you can go to you Account settings and there are options there where you can minimize the fan from becoming over populated, that is if you wish to have minimal fans. Try account and privacy settings.
you can add FBML tab on your page.then it look pretty.i have some fan page with USA fans.so i can help you if you need any fb marketing.
Well, FB fan page is best used to promote something of your own, like your website, or maybe you might try some affiliate marketing on it as well, but to a certain limit only.
