What to do with 5000-6000 uniques a day.

OK so I get great traffic. 5000-6000 visits a day.
Google analytics says that 50% is returning visitors.
Adsense used to make me money but aint doing much right now.
I need something else. Affiliates don't seem to work.

If you have some ideas I would love to know them. I don't do adult stuff either.
Its killing me that I get this traffic but can't convert it.

What would you do with this traffic?

You could easily sell an ad on there for a couple hundred dollars a month, if not way more.

Is it SeoSiteTracker the site you are referring to?

Like the others said...go out and find the advertisers. They are always looking for more sites to put their ads in.

Has anyone tried text-link-ads and can confirm it's legit and works well?

to momonari - i tried, work well for sites with quaite a good pr but low traffic, if you have good pr and good traffic, then you'd better sell ads by yourself, TLA gets 50% of money :)

To thread owner, i think that you have a forum are you? with so many returning visitors, then you can try adsense with adbrite, adbrite pays better for impessions, sell banners on your header or something:)

Private adverts? CPM adverts? Link sales?
    CPA offers?

IF you have alot of content...try intext advertising such as kentora....
but they pay 5 cents per click though....but you will have a higher ctr.

Wow! I wish I could get that many visits a day. I would suggest something like widgetbucks because it not only pays per click, but it also pays per 1k visitors.

Use a service that pays per thousand visitors, because even if no one clicks, you still make money.

Thanks for all the ideas. I have tried most of them. Ive even put out offers for ad space on my site via site point. Its not seositetracker com since that siteis down right now.
I think the affiliate route might be good, but I have tried that as well. Guess I just need to find the product my visitors like. I'd prob be willing to take on a partner and share some profit if they could prove to me that they could make some money with it. Any takers? Ill prob offline the rest of the night but back in the morning!

It sounds like you have a loyal following. It's really hard to give monetization advice on something without knowing your niche. But I can certainly understand not wanting to give it out on an open forum.

Have you tried setting up a newsletter? For some niches this works really, really well.

Entice your visitors with a newsletter sign up with "hot tips" and "hot news." Make sure the signup form is easily seen on all pages. Collect email addresses. Sign up with Aweber.

Once you get a sizable number (say, 500 or so) start sending out short, informative newsletters. Maybe write two articles to stick in each. Write a small intro telling about any news you have on the site and then feature the two articles. Give about half of each article but not the whole thing. At around the halfway point (or about 200 words in, whichever is smaller) link back to the page on your site where you have the article posted. This keeps them coming back to your site.

After a while, sprinkle some "recommended products" that fit you have fit into your articles that week. Make sure that the product fits your niche well and isn't crap. Stick your affiliate link in the newsletter AND the article page back on your site.

Don't abuse your list, but grow it over time. After a while, you will have a large list of subscribers that view you as an authority and repeatedly visit your site. They trust your recommendations and are likely to buy through your affiliate links.

    what niche your site is?
what kind of traffic: where they are from, what age range they are, what is their hobby, do they buy online, do they even own credit card?

think things like that and you will find affialate program wich convert with your traffic.....
