what to do when your product is on rapidshare?

I emailed support but from the media reports, it looks like it is hard as hell to get the file deleted. What can I do? In a way, I feel "good" about the fact that our products are "good enough to steal" - but at the same time, I don't want people stealing our products!

Of course, I discovered the fact that it was stolen by checking my web stats and found a lot of hits from a hacker forum. Nice to know they think it's a good product! And they visit the sales page BEFORE they steal it.

A LOT of CB products are on there. And yeah, you have to register for the forum to get access. If you're a PUBLISHER and you want to check for your stuff, please PM me with your publisher name. I don't want to post the URL here for obvious reasons.

The only way to remove it from there, is to speak with Rapidshare support.

Honestly this is a fact of life basically if your product is good enough and enough people want
it very hard to stop people from stealing it. You might get it deleted but then someone else will
upload it again. Thats just how it works you have to live with it. Sorry.

contact the boards where the links to it are posted as well, if they do nothing then contact their host.

Good luck with that if I'm pretty sure he's referring to a hacker forum
dedicated to posting stolen products. And not just ebooks
but big name products as well like photoshop so if they can't stop
them I don't think he will be able to either.

But its worth a try if it was posted in a forum not dedicated to stolen links.

P.S - Not trying to be rude just give me 2 cents.

honestly, having several products myself i know about "those" sites....and i think its wasted time to go after one warez site, two more will pop up where your product will be traded.

The best thing you can do is totally secure your stuff with eg. DLGuard, IMHO.

Truth be told the kinda people that download ebooks of there aren't gonna pay for them anyway, heck half of them can't.
