OK so I'm happy with my rankings, pretty much no 1 for my keywords in the UK and no 3 in the US. The site is generating steady but not huge business so I've been working on better coversion and focussing on key user groups rather than SEO. Interestingly the majority of my visitors show as from the states but they are only a small percentage of the buyers. My products are custom software based so location is not an issue. Most of my clients email or even telephone and tend to be UK based as I am. Certainly I like them to call as this improves my chance of a sale although I'm surprised how many oversees sales I get when it's only an english language site. Does anyone have experience of international sales conversions or any suggestions for improving things, particularly in the US. Should I just focus on the UK or if i pretend I have a US office with a manned telepone will sales over there increase. And if so is that something becoming common. There must be others who have sites at the top of the search engines but are only selling in certain locations and loosing the rest. Perhaps I need to create another site written in American English or even other languages. I'm not looking for link exchanges but wondering what would be best. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience.
You don't want to change anything on the page. I suggest you keep getting inbound links, and look at optimizing other pages of your site for other keywords.
Well 2 things come up my mind. 1). Maintain the position 2). Take another slice of the SERPs share for yourself by building indent listing
get a US number through Vonage or another voip provider and list it on your site.. your might get better conversion from the us visitors
its nice to here that . i prefer keep maintaining same keyword density, and inbound links so that u canretain ur position for longer time. Keep a watch on competitors as u will not when who can target you site
Endgadven, maintain your good SEO activities but focus more on improving the efficiency of your marketing efforts.
Thanks Guys I'm will always need to work hard on my position while also try to make the site more focussed on marketing words to get better results. They do class a bit. I'm going to give the US number and International feel a try as well. A little surprised and dissapointed that no one else has experience or ideas specific to using good positions to wider international effect. Just thought I was missing something.
