    Hi,

I think i have been banned by yahoo ?
    What can i do?
I used to rank very well on my key words and then i dropped from page 1 to page 4. A week later i have totally dropped from the whole index?

    What can i do?

I have had some recent attacks on the site (hack and dns) so i think someone has got it in for me ...

Will yahoo tell me why ?
How can i contact them to find out why?

I had the same problem about 5 months ago. Used to rank #1 for two very competative terms. One day I totally dropped out of the index. I searched around and found some email addresses I could send a message to, to request re-inclusion. I did and got an email back stating I 'may be banned' along with a link of all their T&C of possible reasons.

I have no clue why I got banned but I did everything I could think of to clean up anything that may even thing I was violated one of the T&C and sent them a follow up note. I never heard back... Three months later it looks like the ban is lifted, but now five months later I still only rank in the 90s for the terms I use to be #1 for.

I've been told by others that it takes about a year for this penalty to go completely away. Just wish I knew what I was being penalized for.

Yeah a Yahoo Directory listing would of course go well, its an advice for everyone to get listed in the Yahoo Directory first before SEOing.

no yahoo did not give any reason.
my site was banned 3 month ago.
i writed to yahoo and asked about the ban reason .they told that they can not provide such information.
i have requested a new inclusion in yahoo search engine and they again accepted my site . now my site is again in yahoo index :)

Yahoo does nasty things. They had just deleted my HACKING blog, which was on no # 1 for the term hacking.

Now it seems they have included it again. May take a while to reach the top again

Does your hacking blog contain any unique content??? If not, do you believe your blog should rank #1 with no unique content?

Once deleted from Yahoo, deleted forever. Those idiots at Yahoo do respond to emails but they never read yours - they simply send a canned response every time. In other words, focus on Google and MSN. Yahoo's algo is so #@$% up.

Yahoo seems to banned lot of websites. They have very strict algorithm which I think that won't work for them in order to outrank Google in Search Engine world.

Here's an article I've written last 2 weeks on how to lift Yahoo Search banned? Hope you will find these informative.

    the best thing to do:

    1. find out why you got banned in the first place
    2. fix the problem
    3. write to yahoo
    4. then sit and wait... and write to yahoo... and wait... and write to yahoo...

it'll get unbanned sooner or later. ;)
