I've picked up a domain, got hosting sorted, now I'm trying to figure out how best to make use of it to generate some cash. This is really my first effort at a dedicated project designed to earn me some money. I want to try and apply what I may have learnt, and try and learn some new stuff along the way. I want to focus on education news and resources. Domain is edu-hq.com There's nothing there at the moment, just put up a wordpress blog and have experiment with RSS feeds. Any advice or tips for me?
Good Luck you are going to get lots of tips on this thread But I will give you one solid tip 'work very hard on promoting' your site Analyse the tips you get here then use your time efficiently at implementing the processes
Why not look for some affiliate or CPA programs you can join that have educational offers? I know I've seen some, and that would help monitize the site.
Education isn't exactly the hottest niche right now... Decide very explicitly what your site will consist of. Will it just be a blog about education, or is it just an article site stuffed into blog format? Once you know what you're producing, you can work out your target market, and you can offer relevant affiliated products, CPA etc. PPC may not be the best way to earn from your site.
I'm going to have to do some research into keywords and look into a couple of affiliate programs. Any suggested starting points?
