    Hi
What to do next with my site
I have managed to make it to page one on Google for my keywords in couple of weeks
    Plenty of lookers
    But
    No one is buying
Why – can someone tell me ???
How or what do I do to stay on page one of Google
Does google kick you off if you do not sell ??
    Thanks
    Bret

    Bret,

What is your site URL, I can take a look and offer some suggestions. Most likely, if you are getting visitors and NOT getting sales either your sales copy sucks (sorry, but truth hurts sometimes) or your product / service is over priced for the perceived value or simply not building value in the first place which brings us back your sales copy.

Do you collect your visitors' email? Use autoresponder service to follow up with your customers. Offer free stuff to them if they subscribe.

LOL.. google will only kick you off once they see your site is not relevant to what the visitors are searching for (e.g. high bounce rate)
If you're not selling, but visitors don't press the "Back" button as soon as they land on your page, it's ok, they won't kick you yet.

Set have a/b testing for your landing page and see why you're not converting.

That long one-page sales page looks really scuzzy. it doesn't match the message - people interested in solar panels are interested in environmental issues - your sales page is in the style of a spammy get-rich-quick scheme.

Maybe you should improve your sale copy? Make it more trustworthy!
What about some discount coupons, it's a recession out there...

Bret, I think you could make some changes to your sales letter but first of all remove that Windows XP background...:)

    Here are my suggestions:

Headline: a large, red headline, mentioning a measurable benefit of your product like "Discover How You Can Save Up To 90% On Your Energy Bill, etc..."

Sub-headline: a smaller size, black sub-headline, mentioning another benefit of your product.

Sales copy: start it by telling a story that ends up relating to your product and the solution it offers. List (preferably in bullet form) all the immediate benefits it brings to your reader; talk less "I" and more "You". After all, your reader wants to know what's in it for him.

Testimonials: place them on your sales letter not on a different page like you're doing now.

These are just some ideas. I'm sure other members can add more suggestions.

Though $180.00 does not seem like a lot in this recession it is difficult to come up with the money for many. You will do better when the economy adjusts.

Just a quick tip, I would change the font. Times New Roman has an old fashioned look in my personal opinion. I would go with Verdana or Arial. You might just make that subtle change and see how it impacts the look of the site.

Bret, it has improved since last time but I'd go a step forward following some of the suggestions already given here.

    * Try to re-write your content and build a completely new page, name it index2.html or whatever. Promote both pages and see which one converts better.

    * Offer free information and collect visitors' email address using an autoresponder signup form; then you can follow up with more email messages promoting your product.

One more thing: have you tried to get JV partners or affiliates to promote your product?

The font is hard to read it goes from red to black to green to blue to black. And the article jumps all around from sales pitch to story to example.

You need to hire a copywriter for the front page and then put some content behind the site.

Sounds like you need more targeted advertising. And with that I suggest you sign up at forums and websites that discuss saving energy and look for sites that have a classifieds section. Post your products in the classifieds sections on those sites.

Besides saving energy sites, I recommend disaster prepardness and survival related sites. These could be blogs, and forums.
