Overheating problem may arise due to the any part of to make that cool to your laptop is not working properly. I think you should check the fan of your laptop is working properly and If you are unaware with the hardware, then you should take the services of the expertise from laptop's service center.

Use you laptop adapter instead of battery working, In fact The battery in your laptop produces lots of heat.
Put a fan at the bottom of you laptop.
Put your laptop at ventilated places.

The fan is not working properly. Get it repaired before an irreparable damage takes place.

i deal with this repair in my job at least 3 to 4 time a day,

There are a few reasons that may cause it. I have put the most likely first

    1. Laptop has accumulated Dust in the Fan
    2. Thermal Paste on CPU has worn out and needs reapplied
    3. Fan is damaged
    4. Heatsink is damaged
    5. BGA chip needs to be reflowed

My advice is firstly to run a utility to read the temperature of the GPU and CPU. if they are hotter than 60 or 70oC then you have found the problem

I will shortly putting a few articles on my site www.GlasgowComputers.com specifically about overheating, dead and Laptops that switch themselves off.

the cooling pad wont work, you have already accumulated dust inside your laptop. you need to get a laptop service from a company like mine in your area

Is it still in warranty? if so, send back to depot, they'll fix it for you, if it's out of warranty, try to search the some tutorial like how to open up a laptop and clean the cpa fan, or heatskin, something like that, then clean your laptop inside by yourself(it's simple) and apply some new thermal grease on the cpu and gpu, because sometimes laptop got lots of dust inside, and the thermal grease getting aging, so its getting hot, and after you cleaned your laptop, reinstall the operating system, upgrade to the newest version, and refresh the bios. Normally when you done these processes, your laptop will be fine, if still hot, I suggest you buy a new one...
