What to do in this situation?

    Hey guys,

I went to sedo and saw a bid with Listing Price and Min Bid as $5,000, it's a 7 letter domain name that's not a dictionary word.

It cost a little too much but I bid on it anyway.

2 days later the guy came with a counter offer of $25,000, 5 times the listing price. Should I just leave it? Pretty bad practice in my opinion, since I am not paying $25,000, reveal.com was sold for $25,000 for the sake of it...

You could make a counter offer yourself and ask the seller to explain his offer. I would try to do this and to make him clear, that the domainname is for you not worth 25k.

    Good luck :)

Probably seller didnt expect 5.000$ for that domain, and now he is greedy. Ask him if he want 5.000$ , if not say him bb ...

thanks guys, somehow godaddy doesn't allow me to write comments. I just counter offered back at original price, if he doesn't take it I'll just walk away. I've already found another good name, so this to me right now is already purely optional.

Walk away. Domain names market is a buyers market now. Buyers make the price.

$25,000 is too much for a domain name which is not a dictionary word..

    I won't pay even $1000..
