Definitely hit up either the Zoo or the Wild Animal park. The WAP is more impressive to me, but either way. There's too much to mention for a two-three day trip, but I'm also a huge fan of the aerospace museum as well. If you aren't from the beach, definitely hit it up and soak in some rays, maybe rent a boat. If you have a beach at home, I wouldn't bother. If you are a football fan, there are always tickets available for Chargers games at the stadium by scalpers, and usually online the day before the game at ticketmaster. It's one of the better NFL stadiums that I've been to as far as the fans go. A very friendly atmosphere because nobody expects much out of the team . I'm sure there's a wide range of bars and clubs to hit up at night, but I haven't partied in SD too much. You could always visit TJ and ride a mechanical bull. You haven't had tequila until it's been forced down your throat by three guys in wide brimmed hats and then followed up with a violent shaking while they blow whistles in your ear...
Oh yeah - if you can swing it, the dolphin experience at Sea World is awesome. I hear the penguin experience is great too, but getting a reservation for either one is hard.
Hey hey.... Mike, the zoo does NOT suck. When people come to San Diego, they just have to visit the zoo. Have to. It's the law. La Jolla is alright, but I especially like the Sea Lions there. They're totally cute. Heh, PB was where I got my tattoo.
I got mine in a dingy, oily little place in a bohemian town somewhere east of Melbourne, Australia - by a guy who looked like a rat dipped in grease. And he did a poor job of it. So no, Grim, I won't be getting another one
I haven't been to the SD Zoo actually, my daughter went and told me it was a lot of walking. So I passed. But seaworld was great, liked it a lot!
The Zoo was OK, but I much preferred the Wildlife Park. I only wish then that I knew the story about the Wgasa Monorail. But at least I rode it!
The Wild Animal Park is nifty, but it used to be a lot better when they had the dinosaur exhibit way back in the day. I don't think they do it anymore.
wow, thanks people...lots of good suggestions... I have heard of coronado, any inputs on it? I will publish what I plan to visit....
I was in San Diego a few weeks ago for a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament, but we left early for the beach, big fun!
