What should I do if my site has been penalized by Google? Site is indexed, but dropped drastically in SERPs and the more links I build into it, the more it drops! Clearly penalized, not sandboxed, since domain is 1.5 years old, and site is 6 months old. I'm thinking of getting TNX now. I need thousands of links, of course, not all at once. What can I do?
You might have: .changed the content .put your link somewhere that is not advised to .made mistake with your interlink structure These things, can change the SERPs of your site. Sometimes it is just Google's reason
This may be temperary drop did Google find all of your links? if not then just wait some time I think it will get the previous positions.
How long has your site been dropping in the SERPS? Have they dropped to the last page? These would be good things to know before actually confirming a penalty.
First you should try to find out what you were penalized for and fix it if you can. Then You should create an account at google webmaster tools if you do not have one already and should submit a reinclusion request. You can read more about it here http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/reinclusion-request-howto/
Well, I think I didn't do anything wrong, maybe over optimization of the keyword I was targeting. It got me results in the first few pages over millions of competition. And nothing happened to me for a long time....Front page is way too hard, but I was happy to be in the top five. How do I own up to Google for this? Ain't everyone doing this? This is just standard SEO practice. I can't possibly my links...can I? Than I'd have no more links...
1. Improve your site mainly the content 2. Add thousands of backlinks to your site - make sure to do it naturally but be fast Once your site be on the top spot at G for a keyword that you target, you must maintain by adding backlinks regularly
Change the content and start a link building campaign. You site will be back eventually but it will take some time.
