Hi forum, I'm writing a series of articles for my blog directed at small business owners who are relatively unfamiliar with with SEO best practices, but want to improve. The idea here is to help small businesses identify 4-5 things that will have the biggest impact on their results. They are probably working with a limited time and budget. They aren't likely to be familiar with concepts like brand / domain metrics. They most likely don't have any tech-savvy staff. What things - easily within their control - should they do first? I have my own ideas, but I am not an SEO expert by any means - so I'd love to get some opinions / thoughts. Thanks, Brent
Great topic Brent! Here is my take on this ..... Small business owners should learn about OUTSOURCING before anything. Once they understand everything about outsourcing, then they can jump into SEO. They are already small business owners after all, right! You do not need to have a really big budget to outsource things for Search Engine Optimization. I would actually say that Outsourcing is also a part of the SEO Process - because there is definitely a lot to get done in this field. Of course, they should learn the Basics of SEO first! On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO I would recommend any small business owner to learn the Basic SEO Knowledge first! The Analytical part of the SEO process will take a lot more time to learn and master BUT you do not need to do it all yourself. If you learn how to outsource very well, then there is nothing that can stop you from accomplishing your Search Engine Goals! I hope this helps man! I wish you the best of the best! Cheers!
Start with how search engine works? Then explain the concept of SEO. Why it is important and Why do you need SEO? Keep it simple and clean so that they can understand
The most effective thing a small business owner can do (SEO wise) is to submit their information to the 50 top local business directories. Not only will this help rankings, it will increase website traffic and sales. Now, services like Yext are excellent for business owners who don't have a lot of time on their hands; however, they're pricey, around $500 a year. I recommend that business owners do it themselves (takes about a day), or hire someone on Fiverr. This way the listings are permanent and they don't have to pay an annual fee.
Can you please help me..how to bring this website-iPOT Technologies to bring first page in Google for Keyword web Designing Company in Chennai
That shouldn't be too difficult. I would first focus on optimizing the Google local business page, then submit to the top 50 local business directories. Then optimize the landing page for the search term you're trying to rank for.
