What to do during the Adsense slow time.

If you are like me Adsense revenues have been drastically lower since the middle of December. Although there has been signs of improvement the last couple of days, I am taking action. Here are three areas I am working on now.

    1) Redoing Older Sites. I have a niche site that averaged about 100 visitors a day over the last year, but had barely over a 2% click rate. I am reformatting this website, page by page to improve its overall look, adsense placement, etc. I am also correcting spelling, adding a few new words here and there and other maintenance type work. Tip: Look to improve under performing sites.

    2) Building and adding new sites. This is something I do all the time, I always have websites in some stage of development. Some are in the idea stage with just a domain, some need a logo to be designed and a page format to be created. Some sites have a few pages already online with more to come. Of course, I continue to add new content to older, developed sites. Tip: Add new websites to your online portfolio.

    3) Add an alternative ad network to your sites. I did well with Google this year, but revenues from Clickbank and Commission Junction came in close behind. Look to see if a Clickbank product fits any of your niches. Add a BANS (build a niche store, see signature) onto a current site. Tip: Add affiliate products or whole stores that fit in with what your are already doing.

There are many other things to add to your workload to improve your sites and revenues, but I will let my fellow Dpers make suggestions for those. I want to learn more as well... :)

I think really think it depends on what niche you're going for. As far as an alternative network goes, the only equal alternative would be to sell your ad space on Adbrite.com at the price you choose. Networks such as Bidvertiser are less targeted and don't pay as much.
