Do you blog from time to time? If so, what are the things you do after your post is published? My view is that if you take time and effort for your blog post, you should take at least twice the effort to market your post. Here's what I do after my post is published to get extra traffic to the post! Social media sharing for quick index and direct traffic. 1. Twitter. Tweet your post. 2. Facebook Share the blog post link on your FB personal account, fan page and all the relevant groups you join. There are a lot of Facebook groups you can join to share your blog post (i.e. free like to your post) 3. Linkedin Share the blog post link on Linkedin. One of the trick to speed up the process is to join as many relevant groups as possible in Linkedin and share it via the Digg Digg plugin. At this stage, I will wait until my post is indexed by Google then I will submit to the following tutorial sites. Please note your blog post topic should be tutorial / how to base rather than a straight promotion article, in order to get accepted and published. Good Tutorials tutorialized.com pixel2life.com instructables.com Apart from the tutorial sites, there are a ton of blogging community that allow you to share your post with other bloggers for free and I have hand picked the active and high traffic sites. Blokube.com BizSugar.com BlogInteract.com zabox.net thewebblend.com These sites contain tons of bloggers that eager to read, vote and comment great posts. If your post become popular and get lots of votes, you can expect significant amount of traffic to your site. Here comes one of the most overlooked source --> Design News Aggregators. These are news sites that aggregate design news, inspiring posts, etc... And you can tap on this advantage to submit to these sites with high traffic. design-newz.com webdesign-ne.ws Speckyboy.com wparena.com webanddesigners.com visual-blast.com FuelYourCreativity.com instantshift.com imnewswatch.com TopDesignMag.com Designsmag.com FamousBlogger.net Design-newz.com is my favorite since I get at least 100 visits from this site for each submission. The alexa of all the above mentioned sites are generally below 50,000. If you have some other sites that you are using, kindly list down here and I will update this thread from time to time.
