What to do? Affiliate or Sell on my own?

Hi, here is my dilemma. I have a site that gets about 1500 uniques per day. The site and url is geared towards DVDs and DVD sales. I currently have a dropshipper, who has provided me all the data that I need for over 35000 DVD's, the description, title, etc...at excellent prices...I can probably reasonably mark-up the prices slightly and make about $2 per DVD
    I am guessing.

I am wondering, do you think its better from me to put Associate-o-Matic on my site and generate referals through Amazon, and use my time to promote my site. OR set up a YAHOO STORE and sell the DVD's by myself; this will
require more monitoring by me, more customer service, and submitting each order to the drop-shipper....BUT I think might bring in more money. Also, I think the search engines will like this one more.

Does anyone have an opinion of this...which one will bring me more money?

You'll need a lot of sales if you are only going to make $2 per sale
If you do it as affiliate, i'm guessing the numbers will be around the same profit.
My best guess is change to something new (not dvd or CD related) or at least try to add other stuff like cd and dvd players, plasma's, etc. Make an upsell.

Selling DVDs online is extremely difficult these days. You have the standard competition, but on top of that you need to compete with blockbuster and netflix, you also need to compete with those grocery stores that let you rent new release dvds for $1 a night.

All of that, and you only get $2 profit? I wouldn't do it if I was in your position.
