What to do about people who use ad-block plugin?

Anyone have any good ideas on what to do with visitors who use the ad-block plugin? I wonder if there is a way to detect whether a visitor has the plugin and then block them from using the site? Hmm...

Don't block them! What if they come back to the site without the ads blocked? :D

I think the %age of people blocking ads are less than 2%... nothing to even worry about. These are probably people who also understand the concept of AdSense/Ads and are already adblind.

You can place code on the site to unblock most ad blocking software. However those who have it are the ones that won't click your ads anyways so don't even worry about it. Most people myself included will want relevant ads. The only time I do not is MFA sites and I just hit the back button when that happens anyways.

You want to block visitors... weirdo! Just kidding, you don't need to worry, visitors are good if they click ads or not, remember they make impressions! I'm not sure if they count, but they also provide possible promotion by word of mouth or other means. You could also be blocking a person who might link to your site.

If they use the blocker that means they wouldn't of clicked an ad anyways, should we ban all users who don't click ads? I think not! :)

Those visitors can always tell their friends about your site...
Always build sites thinking about the visitors, not the money...
Money will flow if you do that. ;)

    visitors are like an avalanche
the more you have the faster the number grows as a result of more generic backlinks by HAPPY visitors creating more new visitors by worth of mouth !

this situation as you mention never was a factor in past many years. if you get thousands and more visitors you always get a mixture of various visitors - the total sum of all will always sum up to a decent revenue on a quality site.

Well think about it logically. People using adblockers probably wont click on ads anyway so blocking those users or not will not will not make a difference. So my blocking them out you are basically losing traffic. ;)

My concern would be bandwidth hog repeat visitors that never click on the ads or use ad-block those could be a problem.
