What to create my website with?

Hi, I'm trying to create a website with simple information on it. I want to be able to have a front page with a whole lot of categories, leading on to sub categories then the information.

The layout doesn't have to be really special but I want it to look good (and have google ads too)....problem is that I don't know what software to use for this...I have the following options from my cpanel:

    Drupal
    Geeklog
    Joomla
    Mambo Open Source
    PHP-Nuke
    phpWCMS
    phpWebSite
    Post-Nuke
    Siteframe
    TYPO3
    Xoops

Which is the best for creating simple websites with html information (and maybe video in the future)... What should I do? And should I go with php or html??

    It's all confusing lol, help...

I would download and install Wordpress. It's free and has many themes available that you can customize the way it looks. Very easy to add additional pages, and embeding videos and such is easy with lots of plugins available. there's also some google adsense plugins that you can just put your publisher IDs in and it takes care of the rest for you. Give it a try :)

I would vote for Wordpress too - easy install and maintanance, you can get nice free templates for it (or buy some here at DP). Joomla, Mambo and such are quite too complicated...
There are also special adsense optimized templates (for high CTR) and you can download plugins like Adsense Manager that helps you set up ads.

You could get free web editor like NVu www.nvu.com and some templates from sites like http://www.freecsstemplates.org. It may take you a little longer to lear and setup but it will be worth it.

I thought Joomla is Mambo, or, that Mambo no longer exists and is now Joomla...?

Wordpress seems to have this magical ability to take a really simple content-full site and add like twice the amount of code necessary. But everyone still seems to like it.
