Hello, I have a very specific niche that I am interested in creating a Directory for. My question is what is better, creating a name like NicheDirectory.com or NicheResource.com By the way the best keyword to use is not available for NicheDirectory, but the Resource is. Thanks!
i wld say go for a domain name that matches the most popular keyword phrase if possible. If many ppl search for 'niche resource' then go for nicheresource.com. Else choose one that will likely help in your SERPs. Of course you must like the name too.
They will just search for "Niche", which will be the same as the keyword phrase. The Directory or Resource will just be at the end of the keyword. Considering the keyword exactly matches what I can get for "Resource" and unavailable for "Directory", I am leaning "Resource". If that makes sense... Thanks for your comments! Definitely considering all possiblities...
Well if you like *.*resource.com domain, don't stop yourself from getting it then The most important thing is to like the name that you have chosen for your directory before starting it.
That covers everything i guess To OP If you want to create just a "directory", then go for NichDirectory, and if you plan to add other stuff than just links and make it a "resource" then go for NichResource. Just my $0.05
Personally I prefer "resource", because it gives you scope to expand, as Fastian points out. If you decide that the pure directory isn't working out, you can add articles, forums, blogs and more, and it will still be a resource for that niche.
Search for "niche directory", "niche resource" .. even "niche tools" or "niche sites" .. and see what it is searched the most: http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ Could be a good choice if it is a popular search.
Yeah, I thought that the name using Resource is more brandable. I will go with that one because I do think that I can start with a directory and then add more things in the future. Thanks!
