What to build? General directory OR niche directory?

Hi
I have a niche site about link building. I want to create a directory within my site and still don't know if I want to create general directory or niche directory (link building and seo related)
What would you do?

Well if your niche is about link building then wouldn't you just go General anyways? I'd say general.

 

I would go niche. The world has way too many general directories and the competition is fierce. Plus if your site is about SEO and it caters to new website owners, niche would fit more with long-tail optimization.

 

I think it depends on the niche you are in, if you are in a niche that is not very popular then this might not be the best idea since the submission rate will be very small. I would go general just because it opens the door to more traffic and submissions.

 

Considering the niche that you mentioned i would suggest just starting a general one.

 

Niche is the best mate, think about the competition! you will great if you have little competitor...good luck

There are many people so many opinions ))) Well I'll go for general. Since my site is about link building, I already attract people who interested in getting backlinks. It will be smarter to offer links to all niches. Thanks you all and Happy New Year!

 

I'd say a general directory would bring in more submissions...but then again...even if you make a niche directory, you're likely to receive many non-related submissions anyway...

 

If I knew back when I started my directory what I know now about directories it would definitely have to be niche.

 

I certainly would recommend general directories, if you are just starting out.
