What to aim for in search engine ranks?

I own a webmaster blog (See Sig).

Due to the fact that I would get traffic for a lot of my posts that I do... I don't know what to try to get a high ranking for a keyword.

I would just get traffic if some of my posts get high rankings on some good keywords but what should my overall blog rank be high for?

Any ideas?

 

Unless your blog has one theme, then don't worry about the overall blog ranking for one term.

If you want it to rank for webmaster blog, then add more content that specifies details about a webmaster blog and link to other webmaster blogs.

 

Use different link anchors, you can rank high with more than 1 keyword...

Yes, keywords with content is really important

 

Focus on Title tag. In title place your targeted keyword.
