What things do you look for before submitting your site to a paid directory?

Check who owns the Directory
Check to see how long it has been online
Check the categories
Check the marketing
Check the feedback
Check the credibility
Check the Review ROI value
etc etc many many factors need to be assessed

 

I check whether it's family-friendly first of all. I also look at the other websites I could be listed alongside: are they spammy and MFA, or actually quality resources?

I also look for signs that a directory is cared for. Are there typos, and is the design unique and tasteful, or just a clone of many other directories?

 

price is number
quality
template style
what script they are running
traffic
reputation
approval time
Page rank or backlinks

 

I will check the price, whether it is well-promoted and is advertised well, PR and also the script plays a factor. A custom template is also important to me as it reflects on the seriousness of the directory owner in this business.

 

Look at the sites in it, is it quality or does it accept anyone.

 

Amount of other links on the page where my listing would be placed, price, & PR.
