It seems like there's lots of people scamming in the buy/sell websites part of the Digital Point forums. Besides asking for screenshots, what kinds of things can you do (as either a buyer or a seller) to ensure you aren't getting cheated? For example, if you're a buyer is it reasonable to ask to pay half upfront and half later? Any other good tactics? Thanks!

People are usually not selling websites with subscription based revenue models so the revenues will typically be generated from PPC ads, affiliates and/or direct ad selling. To ensure you are not being scammed simply look at what you're buying. Make sure the website is fundamentally sound with ONpage SEO completed with unique meta data: titles/descriptions/tags. Use a backlink checker to see if it has any popularity or authority within the SE's. See if the site is scalable. It doesn't matter if the person before you couldn't make a website profitable. The only thing that matters is if you think/know you can. Make a checklist: Onpage/Offpage, domain marketability, and revenue stream possibilities.

In order to not get scammed, you need to do some due diligent such as checking the buyer itrader, reputation.
About the payment, you better use escrow coz this will give extra protection to prevent the seller scam you.

What would you do if the seller doesn't want to use escrow? With escrow, can you define that successful transfer of the product includes that AdSense earnings and traffic are in fact, as reported?
